David Mackenzie brings a wealth of expertise, with over 30 years of experience consulting with and advising business leaders on strategic growth and transformational agendas, both locally and globally.

Underpinned by a background in finance , David worked with the consulting arms of the ‘Big 4’ firms ie: PWC, EY in the UK and Europe and KPMG in Australia, where he built and led a CFO solution practice. David also served as Partner-in-charge of the financial services industry for PA Consulting across Australia and Asia.

Following a career with top tier consulting firms, David founded and has led his own strategic consultancy, Mackenzie & Noble, for the last 20 years and has a deep understanding of the commercial levers for business success and the cultural nuances across different organisations.

Over this time David has navigated a wide range of business situations and agendas, including strategic planning, organic and M&A growth, merger integration, performance improvement, organisational transformation, financial management and cultural evolution. His long-term client relationships have led to major commercial and personal successes.

David believes in aligning leadership teams with organisational strategies and, as an experienced facilitator, encourages diverse perspectives to foster the best solutions and decisions.

Career highlights:

  • Supporting the CEO of a c$70m t/o business on the full range of strategic planning, growth (including m&a activity) and performance optimisation agendas over a multi-year period, leading to a doubling or revenue, increased profitability and culminating in a high value business sale transaction.
  • Developing and implementing a complementary adjacent strategy for a major retail business, including establishing new strategic joint venture.
  • Leading the separation and divestment of a business line within a financial services group, resulting in material increase in shareholder value.
  • Building and leading a highly regarded strategy consulting firm.
